Scottish Borders, Scotland - Kathi (a teacher) and Eric (a historian) run a busy household with four children aged 5-14. They live in a fabulous Georgian villa, in the pretty town of Duns in south-east Scotland, close to some wonderful beaches, abbeys and country houses. They really enjoy meeting new people from other countries, learning things about their culture and teaching them about their own. Kathi likes sewing and as a family they also enjoy hillwalking, ceilidh dancing, watching films and playing board games & music

Scotland, UK - The property is in a quiet residential street In Morningside with excellent public transport facilities to and from the city centre. The area is generally considered one of the best in Edinburgh with cinemas, restaurants, cafes, pubs and good shops all nearby. It is a 30 minute walk through parks to the centre. Students can expect a warm welcome as well as their own self contained en suite accommodation. Edinburgh itself offers numerous attractions such as the Castle, Royal Mile and art gallery.

Access to the city, shops, theatres, cinemas and leisure activities is only a 10 minute bus journey away and the bus stop is only a few metres from the house. There are green fields and golf course within walking distance of the house. The house has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large sitting/dining room, kitchen, a conservatory and back and front gardens.

Yet, we are surrounded by a great variety of fantastic bars & restaurants (3 Michelin Stars). And only 10 minutes from the city centre by a very frequent bus service. The Royal Yacht Britannia is 5 minutes walk away at Ocean Terminal (a cruise ship stop); it offers shopping, restaurants, cinema & day spa. We are close to historic sites/places of interest.

Can be walked in 25/30 minutes. 10 minute walk to Arthur's seat and shopping centre. Student's bedroom on the top floor so not suitable for those with limited mobility. Bedroom not en suite but if my son is not at home the bathroom is for sole use of student. Wifi access. Elderly cat who keeps herself to herself! Piano available for use.
