IELE - Instituto de Estudios de la Lengua Española in Sevilla IELE is a Spanish language school located in Seville, Spain with over 14 years of experience. The InstituteThe Instituto de Estudios de la Lengua Española (IELE) is a private language center dedicated to the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language. IELE has 14 years of experience offering a variety of courses year round to all types of students regardless of their current level of Spanish. Students come to IELE from countries across Europe, Asia and the United States, thus creating an international atmosphere in the school. Classes are kept small, generally about 8 students per class to provide an optimal level of interaction between the professors and other students. The professors at IELE are native speakers who have taught Spanish as a foreign language for many years. Also, the school is flexible and adept in its methods to meet individual needs.
Location The school is located in the center of the city in one of the most lively and picturesque areas of Seville. It is right down the street (only 100 meters) from the city's famous Cathedral and is around the corner (about 200 meters) from the City Hall. This ideal location is surrounded by a number of plazas where the people of Seville gather around mid-day to enjoy the weather and eat or drink something together.
Description of the Center IELE is situated in a stylish typical Sevillian house and has the following characteristics:
- A spacious and well-lit reception/administration hall
- Seven newly-furnished classrooms totally equipped
- A library of books and other authentic documents
- A spacious terrace used as a meeting and gathering spot from where one can see the Giralda Bell Tower
- Free wireless internet access
About our Students IELE may register up to 60 students per session. The majority of these students come from countries belonging to the European Union, Eastern Europe, Japan and the United States.
The average age of students at IELE is between 20-30 years old. There is a minimum age requirement of 16 years old with the exceptions of courses held in the teacher’s home and those prearranged by accompanied scholastic groups. In that case, the minimum age is 14 years old. There is no upper age limit. Learn more..

IELE offers a complete range of courses throughout the year in an effort to meet the needs of each student. You can choose a course that lasts anywhere from one week to one year.
Each class lasts 60 minutes.

Teaching Materials
All the teaching material is included in the course price. The students do not need to buy any books.

With our methods, learning Spanish will be a natural and easy task.
INSTRUCTORS
All of our teachers at IELE are native speakers, who hold degrees in Filología Hispánica (Spanish language, Literature and Culture). Our professors have years of experience teaching Spanish as a foreign language and regularly attend seminars and other courses to be constantly advancing and improving their teaching technique. The average age of IELE's instructors is 30 years.

USUAL SCHEDULE
One's schedule depends on the type of course, but normally it is as follows:
From 10:00 to 13:30 with a 30 minute break
Evenings and afternoons are principally reserved for our cultural program and optional activities.
YOUR LEVEL
On arrival at IELE there is a written test, and an oral evaluation with a teacher who will help you to decide on the most appropriate course and level. In IELE we have four competency levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Superior. Students of a similar level study together with a maximum of eight people per class.
Social and Cultural Activities
IELE helps students discover and enjoy all that Seville and Andalusia have to offer. There are two types of activities available to students:
1)Free activities for all course members:
-Cultural exchange parties every week. An absolute must to meet people from all over the world!
-"Intercambios" - Meetings with Spaniards that gives you the chance to practice your Spanish with them for part of the time, and them the chace to converse with you in English for the other part of the time.
-Library: Free advice and loaning of books and publications in Spanish.
2) Activities not included in the price of courses that are billed separately:
These activities range from an hour-long activity, such as a guitar class, to a weekend-long excursion. Your participation depends on your tastes and available free time, and requires payment ahead of time.
Examples: An evening at the "tablao" (flamenco venue), bullfights, bicycle tours, river cruises on the Guadalquivir, excursions to the beach, excursions to Cordoba, Granada, Morroco, Portugal, or even gastronomy classes.
If you prefer to travel independently, our staff will be glad to help you organize your trip. You can receive free and expert advice about where to go, how to get there, car rentals and accommodations.
Also, there are many opportunities to be physically active in Seville and its surrounding countryside. Students can join a recreational sports team, take dance classes or try a variety of watersports -like surfing, snorkeling or wakeboarding- at the nearby beaches. There are a number of fitness centers located within walking distance of the school and other housing accommodations that often offer special discounts to students. The beach is less than 1 hour from Seville and can be easily reached by bus or train.
Accommodation
IELE arranges convenient housing for its students and aims to best accommodate the needs and interests of each individual. There is a 35€ supplementary charge for the arrangement and reservation of housing.
Housing arrangements are determined on a first come, first served basis.
Students who would like IELE to arrange their housing may choose among various options that each have distinct advantages:

Our school does not organise excursions but we collaborte with several travel companies that offer trips.
