Globe English Centre in Exeter Founded in 1978, the Globe English Centre is a family-run school with great reputation. Located in Exeter, we are 20 minutes away from the sea and London is little more than 2 hours away for day and weekend trips. Exeter is also regularly voted the Best City for Quality of Life in England.

Programmes
We offer a variety of Junior and Adult courses -ranging from Explorer Programme for 7 - 10 year olds and Discovery for teenagers, to Main Programme and Authentic English for adult students. We also offer exam preparation (IELTS, Cambridge) and various specialist courses such as Teachers' Refresher Programme and Business English.
Certificates and Diplomas
We offer 10 week preparation courses for all Cambridge Examinations for entry in March, June and December each year. Please contact us for dates.

Teaching Materials
We have 17 regular teaching staff. Temporary teachers are employed on a regular basis, qualified and well known to us. They use a combination of coursebooks and authentic materials, such as newspapers, DVDs and news programmes.
Students have use of a Self Access Study Centre, a computer room with skype and printing facilities and a private study room.

Social and Cultural Activities

Studying English also means learning about England, discovering the country and meeting the people.
Our Social Programme will give you these opportunities and more. It also gives you a chance to get to know the teachers and the other students better and to make new friends. Leisure is an important part of learning. This is why the Globe has a full time Social Organiser.
The Junior Social Programme is compulsory and included in the fees. Please see "Junior English Courses" for details.
In School : cooking sessions, quizzes, board games, billiards, table tennis competitions, parties and barbecues, etc.
Going out : to theatres, cinemas, traditional pubs, concerts, newspapers, radio stations, the Courts, local businesses, breweries, historic monuments, deep-sea fishing, pony trekking, ballooning, on literary trails (Agatha Christie, Charles Dickens), etc.
Accommodation
There are several options - most of our students choose to stay with a host family to experience the English way of life, culture and food. The Globe students can also stay in private apartments, owned by the School, conveniently located on the school campus just 5 minutes walk from the city centre. Alternatively we can book a room in a good City Centre hotel in close proximity to the School.
Excursions and Visits
The Adult activity programme is optional and all events and trips are charged at cost price. Students book for the events of their choice.
