Brixham is a fishing port which offers numerous boat trips. There are pebble beaches and an outdoor salt-water pool in Brixham and sandy beaches in Paignton nearby. Around Torbay, there are facilities for watersports, including a water-park, sports centers, cinemas and many places of interest such as Agatha Christie's house, Greenway.
Torquay, Exeter and Plymouth have shopping centres.
To the north, Dartmoor is one of the wildest parts of England with feral ponies, beautiful for walking, picnicking and if it's hot, dipping in streams.
In Devon, we have everything from caving to tree-surfing.There are some unique places such as Totnes which must be the national centre for alternative lifestyle.
