Teaching Qualifications and Experience
I have a Teaching Certificate of Education in P.E. and English - I taught for 35 years and until retirement, 3 years ago, I was Head of Department in a large Outstanding state school in Hampshire. I taught Citizenship, Health, P.E. and English.
Early In 2016 I enrolled for the TEFL/ TESOL 150 hour Master Course - which I passed with a Grade A. My lessons are well planned and researched, personalised to your requirements and ability. I use a variety of media and real life English experiences to ensure a pleasurable learning environment. You are guaranteed to make outstanding progress!
Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy sport, reading, walking dogs and the occasional swim in the sea! We regularly visit nearby markets and towns and enjoy pub lunches. Having travelled extensively and lived overseas, we are keen to meet new friends, help them to learn about our culture and history and our language.
Accommodation
The spacious first floor room has a comfortable double bed, ample storage, T.V, and overlooks the garden. It is clean, modern, quiet and private. Bed sheets and towels are changed weekly. The private bathroom is a modern white 3 piece suite. Guests also have a free weekly use of the washing machine
Excursions and Local Attractions
We are pleased to take you to Dorset's country parks, market towns, beaches, forest and moor walks and country pubs. For the independent traveller, within a minute's walk of our home are bus stops servicing: the university town of Bournemouth with its well attended language schools; Poole and Sandbanks and onwards to Swanage and the World heritage sites of the South West Coast Walk and the Jurassic Coast; Ringwood, gateway to the ancient woodland of the New Forest with its amazing wildlife; the cathedral city of Salisbury and on to the World Heritage sites of Neolithic Stonehenge and Avebury; the maritime cities of historical Portsmouth and Southampton with their ferry links to Europe and the Isle of Wight; the ancient capital city of King Alfred's Winchester and much more. Rail links and National Express bus links to London are close by as are the international airports of Southampton and Bournemouth, but there is plenty to see and do just locally!
