Excursions and Local Attractions
Banagher is a small rural town situated on the River Shannon. It has a large marina which attracts tourists on river vacations from all over Europe. It offers traditional music pubs, golf, equestrian activities, water activities, hill walking, tennis, pitch & putt, fishing and has many historical points of interest.
We are located in the heart of Ireland, a visit to Dublin and/or Galway city would have to be included. We are close to Clonmacnoise one of the most important historical monastic sites in Europe.
We are located near two larger towns which offer cinemas, bowling, and shopping.
Farming is an integral part of Irish life and we would include a visit to a diary farm, a goat & cheese farm and turf cutting.
We have an active and social family life and would include our students in all family activities, with trips to some of Irelands top attractions. We have enjoyed hosting students for over 4years from France, Germany, Italy, Poland & Spain & have made many new life long friends.
