Excursions and Local Attractions
We are located 1 hour and 40 minutes north of Vancouver, BC, in scenic Pender Harbour on the Sunshine Coast. Our home is a beautiful, uniquely constructed geodesic home in a serene parklike setting. It is ideally perched to provide wonderful views of the harbour, and is surrounded by towering cedar trees, beautiful gardens, a natural stream and pond, resident deer, and often has eagles flying overhead. Our little paradise offers fabulous hikes such as Pender Hill and Mount Daniel, (which give you views across the Malaspina Strait to Vancouver Island), Suncoast Trail, Francis Point Marine Park, Sakinaw Outflow, and only half hour drive away is the world famous Skookumchuck Narrows Provincial Park with its rainforest, ebb tide and reverse tidal waters. Walk through rainforest to view the swirl pools created by the ebb tide, or on flood tide the spectacular reverse tidal rapids, some of the fastest in the world. Water activities include kayaking, swimming paddle boarding, canoeing, etc.
