Excursions and Local Attractions
The Sunshine Coast - it's "beautiful one day, perfect the next". The coastline is made up craggy headlands and miles of white sandy beaches where you can swim all year round. There are surf breaks and quiet swimming beaches to suit any swimming desire. The weather is mild in winter and warm enough for the most timid to swim in summer. The Sunshine Coast has a relaxed lifestyle only one hour from the capital city. The Coast is home to the Crocodile Hunter's Australia Zoo and many other attractions including the Ettamogah Pub, Underwater World and Aussie World. There are many golf courses and bowling greens, as well as other sporting facilities. Behind the coastal region is a green hinterland, its small towns lined with artists studios and quaint shops. The famous Eumundi markets, each Saturday, attract thousands looking for handmade gifts and foods. My home is a quiet oasis among gum trees and tropical palms, yet only minutes to the beach and the major shopping plaza.
